Bangalore Fashion Week 2017 + Outfit inspiration

Hey Guys,

I have been little busy recently and could not blog for long. But now that I am writing, I am realizing how much I missed my blog.

My last weekend was really a happening one as I got my first invite to a fashion week . I am talking about The Bangalore Fashion Week, and yes it was quite a biggie for me considering it was my first one. You can’t even begin to imagine how excited I was..
I was so excited and nervous that I bailed on every attire in my closet and went shopping. It was a gush of feelings rushing through my veins, making me super excited.

I am going to do a separate post about my look in Bangalore fashion week. In this post, I am going to talk about the trends I spotted in different fashion shows of BFW.

This event was a 4 days event from 3rd Aug to 6th Aug, but because of my tight schedule in office, I couldn’t make it upto the event for first 2 days. So, I went to attend day 3 and day 4 of the. fashion week.

This was the 17th edition of Bangalore fashion week held in Clark’s exotica resort.

So many talented fashion designers showcased their designs and most of them were inspired by women’s life (which makes it little more special 🙂 ).

This time BFW was all about handlooms, silks and velvet fabrics.Trends like off-shoulder, frills, peplums, cutouts, bell sleeves, sheers, embroidery etc were spotted in almost all the shows. It was a blend of ethnic and western and fusion outfits.

I captured some of my favourite looks from different fashion shows of different designers. Checkout these designer outfits and get some inspiration.

  1. On Day 3, 1st show was presented by Dream zone school students. These are creative aspiring fashion designers. I loved some of their designs a lot, which were mostly in the shades of Brown and Purple. Outfits had this gold detailing with lots of frills and bell sleeves used. Checkout their designs here.

2. 2nd show of Day 3 was by Nirmooha from Preeti Jain. This was about Chanderi and Khadi. This was one of my favourite designs collections. I loved everything about the outfits. The colors were subtle and classy. The designs were trendy with current trends in vogue like sheer, mesh, offshoulders. Main feature of the show was the combination of Off-white color with different soft colors like mustard, sky blue etc. Embroidered detailing is something I loved about the outfits.

3. 3rd show was Tantu label by Pranshu Garg. This show had all the trends from contrast prints to cape sleeves and mesh fabric. I personally find it really difficult to carry a dupatta in a wedding when I am wearing that heavy outfit.  Cape sleeves are so in trend and when mixed with ethnic, it gives a classic dupatta look. So, next time if you are planning to get an outfit stitched for yourself to attend a wedding, do go for cape sleeves and get rid of this dupatta hustle.

4. 4th show was the last show I attended on day 3 of BFW. This was presented by the designers Kavya and Pooja   . The contrast colour combinations used in the outfits were glorifying and rare Green and Orange, White sheer and Black.

Day 4:

  1. Show 1 of day 4 was again by Dream zone school. I really liked some of the outfits from this show. I loved layered Lehenga designs showcased here. The detailing and the color combinations are on point. You can see different patterns of layering here. Layered Lehenga have been a thing now in fashion. This pattern looks very classy yet stylish and gives your lehenga an edgy look. Both the layers can be either of different solid colors or one can be plain and the other can be printed or embellished.

2. This show was one of my favorite by Shruti Chopra  . The outfits were mainly pastels with sheer fabric. Embroidered sheer fabric were used to create frills and bell sleeves. Sheers add elegance to a simple outfit and give it more sophisticated look. It can be used from western wear to ethnic outfits like saree or a lehenga. It is a rage in fashion be it a sheer embellished blouses or an embellished saree or a layered sheer embellished lehenga. Any fabric from mesh to Chanderi to chiffon and net can be used as a sheer fabric.
