Refashion!!!!

Hello my dear readers,

Hope you all r doing fine 🙂

Recently, I had been so busy as I went home to attend one of my cousins wedding. I love it when its wedding time. You get to meet so many people, Delicious food,  Loud music, ceremonies and mostly dressing up for the occasion.

This time I thought of putting on something traditional yet stylish and not so glittery. Also, I was not in a mood to spend a lot on a designer dress. So How do I get a fab dress without spending too much??

Answer is… By attacking your Mom’s wardrobe 😉

I explored my mommy’s wardrobe to find something that I can turn into a dress and I found this really classic silk saree with a navy blue border and zari work all over.

I loved it and thought of transforming that old silk saree into something more stylish.

Below is one of my looks from my cousin’s wedding in which I wore this self designed dress made by an old silk saree.

This is a Lehenga with a Pleated Peplum top and gathered long skirt. I really liked the zari work of this saree and wanted to make the most use of it in my dress, so I used the loose end of the saree with zari work (Pallu) to make my top’s sleeves, Saree border for peplum and  the remaining saree cloth to make dupatta’s border.

As I was going to wear this peplum top with a gathered skirt, body hugging fit could have made my lower waist part look huge, hence I went for a comfort and little loose fit of my top.

Paired up my look with a black sleek belt on my waist over my dupatta, a layered kundan neck-piece and matching ear drops, Black clutch and metallic bangles.

This is how I transformed an old silk saree into a new fab stylish dress…
